Introduction
Many CRM systems, courier portals, ERP platforms, warehouse management systems, and fulfillment software allow merchants to connect their Shopify store using a one-time manual integration. Once connected, your products, orders, customers, and other supported data can be synchronized automatically without the need for repeated manual imports.
Unlike public Shopify apps, this method uses a Shopify Custom App that is created specifically for your store. The setup only needs to be completed once and usually takes just a few minutes.
In this guide, we'll walk you through the complete process of connecting your Shopify store to any third-party portal that supports manual Shopify integration.
Step 1 – Create a Custom App
Log in to your Shopify Admin.
From the left navigation menu, click Settings, then open Apps and Sales Channels.
Click Develop Apps, then select Create App.
Enter any name for your app. For example:
- CRM Integration
- Store Integration
- Lume Couriers

The app name is only for your reference, so you can choose any name you prefer.
After entering the name, click Create App.
Step 3 – Setting Up

Add URL of the portal Fe: Https://merchant.lumecourier.com
2nd Step:
Add following scopes, by clicking select scopes>read_ordersread_products read_fulfillments
write_fulfillments
read_customers
Step 4 – Release the app.
Scroll down and click on release button.
If click somewhere else "without releasing" settings will be dismissed.
Step 5 – Install the Custom App

Once your app has been configured, install it on your Shopify store.
Shopify will display the permissions requested by the app.
Review them carefully and click Install to continue.
After installation, Shopify will generate the credentials required to connect your store with the third-party portal.
Step 6 – Copy the Required Credentials

Open your app settings and locate the credentials requested by your portal.
Most portals will ask for information such as:
- Client ID
- Client Secret
Copy these values carefully, as you'll need them in the next step.
Step 7 – Copy Your Shopify Store URL

Return to Settings and open Domains.
Copy your primary Shopify store URL.
This URL allows the portal to identify and connect with your store.
Step 8 – Open the Shopify Integration Page in Your Portal

Log in to the third-party portal you want to connect with.
From the portal menu, open the Shopify Integration, Store Integration, or similarly named section.
Most portals provide fields where you can enter your Shopify connection details.
Step 9 – Connect Your Store
Paste the following information into the corresponding fields:
- Shopify Store URL
- Client ID
- Client Secret
After verifying the information, click Connect.
The portal will validate your credentials and establish a secure connection with your Shopify store.
Step 10 – Allow the Initial Synchronization to Complete
Once the connection has been established successfully, the portal will begin importing the supported data from your Shopify store.
Depending on the portal, this may include:
- Products
- Orders
- Customers
- Inventory
- Fulfillment information
The first synchronization may take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the amount of data in your store.
After the initial sync is complete, future updates are typically handled automatically by the connected portal.
Common Connection Issues
Invalid Credentials
If the portal reports that your credentials are invalid, double-check that you've copied the correct values from your Shopify Custom App.
Connection Failed
Ensure that:
- Your Shopify Store URL is correct.
- The required API scopes have been enabled.
- The custom app has been installed successfully.
- All requested credentials have been entered into the correct fields.
